Payton Shubrick is a dispensary owner and operator in Springfield, Massachusetts, and she shares with Joyce how her journey into cannabis was not an obvious career path. After graduating from college, she wanted to return to her hometown to support the community that supported her and Payton found herself working with her local city government where she was introduced to the emerging cannabis industry. With the epiphany that cannabis could be something both beneficial and monetizable, she began her journey to become the CEO of a women-owned, black-owned and family-owned dispensary in Springfield, 6 Bricks Dispensary. Caroline Pineau and Kim Napoli are two of the most empowered - and empowering  - women working in Massachusetts cannabis. Caroline Pineau is the CEO and Owner of Stem dispensary in Haverhill, Massachusetts, a woman-owned adult-use dispensary serving the Haverhill community in a myriad of ways. Caroline is also the mastermind behind the Green Goddess Golf Invitational, a joyful annual event that brings together women from across Massachusetts working in the cannabis industry and raises money for a local charity.Kim Napoli is a licensed labor and employment attorney in Massachusetts, the co-founder of The Hempest, and a Massachusetts Cannabis Advisory Board member. Joyce learned about Kim Myles in The New York Times and knew she had to meet her. Kim Myles is an Emmy Award-winning designer, entrepreneur and cannabis enthusiast. She and her business partner Kelley Moore are the founders of Myles Moore, a cannabis-focused design firm working on projects across the country and now in New York. Lauren Mundell speaks with Joyce today from Colorado where she is using her public relations and marketing skills to develop the Hi-Curious content marketplace. Lauren found her own healing through micro-dosing cannabis, and was inspired to spread her understanding of the health benefits after a lifetime of believing cannabis was dangerous. She is now laser focused on connecting small and medium cannabis businesses with cannabis creatives to transform the cannabis marketing world.Lauren and Joyce discuss her transition away from her corporate New York marketing lifestyle, her original vision of an on-line cannabis community, why she is now focused on solving the cannabis marketing problem, and how it feels to be a very cool canna mama.Joyce also gives a shout out to Massachusetts cannabis sales hitting a record of  just about $1.8 Billion in 2022, a drastic increase from that first retail sales in 2018 that were just $6.1 Million.
