Mitzi Hollenbeck is a cannabis CPA and found her place in the cannabis industry after serving as a Selectwoman for her small New England town, Lakeville, Massachusetts. While serving on her local board she realized how ill prepared elected policy makers were to handle the fast moving business of cannabis. Mitzi is uniquely positioned to tackle this issue in the emerging cannabis world having both practical experience in local government and solid connections to cannabis businesses. She shares her story of persuading the accounting firm, Citrin Cooperman, that she was the person to lead the charge to help develop good business practices in the emerging cannabis industry. As her accounting firm was founded by their work in the world of Rock n Roll, they quickly agreed.Mitzi understands those who understand the industry should be working to help others understand it too. Ellen Rosenfeld has been dubbed the Cannabis Queen of the Commonwealth, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that is. Her cannabis company, CommCan - The Commonwealth Cannabis Company - is Massachusetts’ only self-financed, vertically integrated cannabis company that is family-owned and operated by lifelong Massachusetts’ residents. CommCan’s state-of-the-art 60,000 square foot cultivation facility built in 2017 is located in the bedroom community of Medway, Massachusetts. Ellen, along with her brothers, also operates a medical-only dispensary in Southborough, Massachusetts and a state-of-the-art co-located recreational and medical dispensary in Millis. CommCan has created more than 70 new local jobs in the communities where it operates and are planning on expanding.Before earning her royal cannabis title, she was a real estate developer and attorney who gave her valuable time to The Volunteer Lawyer’s Project. Joyce met today's guest at the MJBiz Conference in Las Vegas this past December, and today Kelly Young joins The Canna Mom Show from her home in Central Lake in Northern Michigan. Kelly's cannabis story includes her journey to heal from personal trauma, and her work healing others through her non-profit organization Free Relief. She has pursued several different paths in the cannabis industry that were all built upon her experience in her family's Michigan grocery business. Emily Rios reached out to The Canna Mom Show on Instagram and we are so glad she did. Emily is a mom of two and is currently one of the top 5 finalists for the Budtender Award 2019 Ambassador category. She is about to start the first and only chapter of the 420 Nurses in her state of Oregon and is one of the planners for the National Budtenders Campout - scheduled for June 2020. Emily is also a former exotic dancer who served six-years in prison. She has a most colorful story but has found grace in her journey. Barbara Frerichs created her line of CBD foot cremes, High Heel Hero, after a serious accident that left her with limited mobility and a great deal of pain. She's a serious entrepreneur, having  started her first business in 1989 selling books, and hasn't stopped creating new businesses since. A few years ago she jumped on the CBD train with a friend from the Hamptons to help relieve her own pain, and the foot discomfort we all suffer from our love of really cute shoes.
